Yemen Heritage and Research Center Hosts Luncheon Lecture on Capitol Hill On January 27, the Islamic Institute and the Yemen Heritage and Research Center hosted a luncheon lecture on Capitol Hill featuring Howard University Professor Dr. Sulayman S. Nyang who spoke about "Challenges Facing Muslim Minorities in the West." The discussion was moderated by Asim Ghafoor who is the Legislative Assistant to Representative Ciro Rodriquez. The event was part of the Islamic Institute's monthly educational lecture series on Islam. Al-Masar "Call for Submissions" Al-Masar Journal is currently accepting papers for upcoming issues. Original work in any social science discipline, including comparative literature will be considered for publication. The Journal also encourages the submissions of papers representing fresh and alternative approaches not sufficiently represented by mainstream scholarship. Submissions should generally be from 1,000 to 10,000 words in length, and should be sent in both paper format and a 3 1/2-inch floppy disc for Mac. All citations should be in the form of endnotes. The deadline for the Spring 2000 is 2.28.2000
